40 hours per week
Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire
As a firefighter at Cranfield Airport you will carry out rescue and firefighting duties, responding to reported incidents at Cranfield Airport and within the wider university campus. This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property whilst also administering medical care if required.
In addition this individual will work on a rota to support a wider range of other essential operational functions within the airport that would include, Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties, Operations and Aircraft Handling, to ensure ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business.
Cranfield Airport is focused on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and therefore the ability to demonstrate the required level of professionalism and a commitment to client care are essential.
Ideally, you will have aviation firefighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) with an aptitude and an ability to develop the skills and commitment to work as part of the team. You must have a clean current UK driving licence and an LGV 2 Licence would be advantageous. You will be medically fit in accordance with current medical and fitness standards for firefighters and able to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. You will also display a flexible attitude, have well-developed communication skills, and have the ability to work within a closely knit team environment are essential qualities.
